Watermelon Carry-All Pouch

The Watermelon Carry-All Pouch | K Is For Black

I posted a little while back that I’d made a purchase from Anna Dorfman’s Society6 store, K Is For Black. That was June 8. By June 16 I’d already received 2 of the items. Considering that Society6 manufacture to order and I live in Australia, an 8 day turn around from order to delivery is damn impressive!

One of the items first to arrive was the Watermelon Carry-All Pouch in Medium (9.5″ x 6″). It’s actually better in person than the website’s picture! Even in my own picture, you can’t exactly get the idea of its size. The medium is bigger than your average pencil case/beauty bag. I can fit long makeup brushes in it neatly without fear of the bristles being bent out of shape. If you’re familiar with the Real Techniques makeup brushes, the blush brush fits inside the pouch with loads of room to spare, and its not a small brush.

(Yes, my bathroom floor tiles look like clouds. They’re the original 1989 tiles. They could be a lot worse)

The exterior fabric is quite a heavy canvas, – but not at all rough or stiff. The interior is lined with black cotton. Practical for storing things that might transfer colour – like makeup and pens. What they don’t tell you on the website is that there are internal pockets you can stash your cotton rounds and buds (Q-tips) in. Yay for added functionality!

I’m already thinking about getting a few of these pouches in different sizes from Society6. I want to be able to a grab a pouch in the morning and it contain all the makeup I need to do a full ‘look.’ I waste so much time every morning trying to choose the products I want to use for that day from among the vast array of products I actually own. Like a capsule wardrobe for makeup. Hmm… That idea might need some work.

In the meantime, my travel mug and iPhone case have also arrived – and I’ve been using both for a few weeks. Posts coming soon…

Love the idea of a makeup capsule! I use an acrylic makeup organiser/stand from eBay for my everyday stuff. Not as cute as this purse though!

I’m pondering whether my idea isn’t just a reason to buy more cosmetic pouches and tubes of mascara. I’m very clever when it comes to justifying the need for more makeup… and more makeup storage… 😀
